I am updating this page to reflect that the garden project started a year ago. We made a lot of progress with the compost pile and removing pieces of the old fence. We have lots of rich compost to use on our garden this year and have already begun planting this year.
A little background on the project: In 2018 Last year, a new fence was built around the old fence, expanding the size of the garden and improving the security of the garden area. The old fence was removed on three sides, leaving the two gates and the chicken wire and electric wire which was attached at the tops in an attempt to keep the deer out.
The new fence is taller so no electric wire is needed and the chicken wire extends into the ground to prevent any tunneling animals from making our garden their lunch. Before you protest – our Ark provides a hearty selection of food for all of the families that visit and live here.
