Do you believe that we can heal humanity? I hear people say that it is too late, or there are not enough good people in this world to make the change that is necessary to heal all that has been broken. While changing the world may seem impossible from a collective view, changing the world from inside yourself is a much more manageable task. Each one of us is a reflection of the collective. The illusion of separateness has convinced us that we are alone on this journey we call life.

As I have been blessed with my own healing, my perspective on the collective has become clear. We as humans each have gifts, if we quiet ourselves to seek them. Healing yourself is no small task, it can hurt before it feels better and it is an ongoing process. There is no right or wrong way to heal and since we are all connected your healing also heals all of humanity. Healing is a process which occurs both from the inside and outside of yourself.

Steps to Healing from the inside out:
1. Make the commitment to yourself. When you choose to heal yourself, you choose to deepen your relationship with yourself.
2. Give yourself patience and understanding. The path to healing will not be linear. By treating yourself with loving kindness you nurture yourself through your healing.
3. Learn to forgive yourself and others – I recommend using the ho’oponopono technique.
4. Evaluate your self care and boundaries.

Steps to Healing from the outside in:
1. Smile more. Smiling takes less effort than frowning and can improve your overall mood when you make it a habit.
2. Move your body! Exercise, take a walk, do yoga or sports. Physical movement is proven to improve your endorphins and lends itself to your overall health.
3. Do what you love! Engaging in activities that you love like cooking, writing, painting, reading, music and more are instant boosters! Sharing what you love with the world for a living is the best case scenario for a healthy life.
4. Learn to meditate. Even one moment in silence is proven to having calming effects on the mind and body. Practicing mindful moments of quiet can improve your concentration and lower stress.
As we heal ourselves we heal those around us by demonstrating patience and understanding for the silent battles we each face on a daily basis. When we have loving and compassion for ourselves we tend to remember to have it for others as well. As we engage on this journey of self growth and healing we can transcend things like anger, sadness, fear and bask in gratefulness and love. Each day is a new opportunity to offer kindness in our dealings with ourselves and others.
